Why is this called Lenovations Press?
Lenovations Press is a play on founder Len Mihalovich's first name and the word innovations. The name was created in 2014 when Len expected to only publish a single issue of The Adventures of Track Suit Man.
As Len has joked in interviews:
"I thought I was just going to make one issue of Track Suit Man and be done. If I'd known it was going to last this long, I probably would've named it something a little more heroic and comic-book sounding."
Fortunately, the name stuck.
Why are the non-Section 12 comics called Edge of Adventure?
Originally, Edge of Adventure wasn't supposed to be a comic line at all.
The original plan was a massive graphic novel collecting brand-new adventures starring RedMask, Avenger, Buffalo Bill, Fantastic FanBoys, and other characters, alongside classic Golden Age reprints. As production moved forward, it became clear that coordinating so many creators into one enormous project would take much longer than expected. Several artists also had to be replaced during production, with Phil Miller stepping in to help complete much of the work.
Rather than keep readers waiting, Lenovations Press split the project into individual comic series. The shared Edge of Adventure banner remained, giving readers a home for westerns, public-domain heroes, humor, monsters, historic fiction, mysteries, and standalone adventures outside the Section 12 universe.
Why are there so many different Section 12 series?
Short answer: Len Mihalovich couldn't decide whether Section 12 should stay in the 1990s (Flashback) or move to the present day (Declassified). Then he realized... he didn't have to choose.
Each Section 12 series explores the universe from a different perspective. Flashback tells stories set during the team's original adventures in the 1990s. Lost Adventures presents stories that could have happened between the original issues but were never published at the time. Declassified moves the story into the present day, following a new cast as they uncover the truth behind the original Section 12.
Together, the three series expand the same universe without rebooting it, retelling the same stories, or replacing what came before. Instead, each series explores a different corner of the Section 12 timeline.
Reading the Comics
Where should I start?
New readers usually begin with the free comics on our website. Section 12 readers also have Section 12 (Onboarding), a point-of-view introduction to all three Section 12 series. Instead of pages of recaps, you're dropped right into the action as though you were there. Every Lenovations Press series is designed so new readers can jump in without needing decades of back issues.
Visit the Section 12 site for more infoDo I have to read everything in order?
No. Most series are designed to stand on their own, although longtime readers will notice recurring characters, Easter eggs, and connections between titles.
What's the difference between Section 12, Edge of Adventure, and the other series?
Section 12 focuses on superheroes, secret government experiments, and a connected universe spanning multiple time periods. Edge of Adventure is our home for westerns, public-domain heroes, monsters, humor, historical adventures, and standalone stories. If it isn't Section 12, there's a good chance you'll find it under the Edge of Adventure banner.
Are the comics suitable for younger readers?
Most books are appropriate for teens and adults. Individual titles may contain action, suspense, or mild violence. Any mature content is clearly identified.

Indie Comics Deep Dive
Who are Mona and Sam?
Mona and Sam are the digital hosts of Indie Comics Deep Dive, Lenovations Press' YouTube series dedicated to exploring independent comics. Created to make behind-the-scenes features more engaging, they discuss comic history, hidden Easter eggs, creator interviews, production stories, and the creative decisions that shape every issue.
Over time, Mona and Sam have grown beyond simply introducing you to our comics. They've become recurring characters in their own right, appearing in educational presentations, celebrating milestones like Phil Miller's virtual birthday party, showing off our new websites, welcoming their digital intern Jenna to the team, and even preparing to star in their own comic. While they may be AI-powered hosts, their personalities and adventures have become an important part of the Lenovations Press universe.
Think of them as your tour guides through the world of Lenovations Press. They'll point out the details you might have missed, share the stories behind the stories, and hopefully make you laugh along the way.
Why did you create a YouTube show?
One time at a convention, two readers stopped by the table and began listing every hidden reference they found in Wild West Adventures of Buffalo Bill #1. There were... a lot. Len jokingly promised to print the complete list in the next issue.
When it came time to do that, he realized the list would take three or four comic pages.
That's when the idea changed.
Instead of filling comics with behind-the-scenes material, Lenovations Press created Indie Comics Deep Dive with Mona and Sam, giving readers a place to discover Easter eggs, comic history, creator interviews, hidden references, and the stories behind the stories. This is the most fun for the readers and us.
Is the show AI generated?
Both yes and no. Mona, Sam, and Jenna are AI-powered hosts, but every episode is researched, outlined, directed, and fact-checked by Len Mihalovich. The editing and producing of the show is done by a human (Len).
More importantly, every Lenovations Press comic is created by real people. Only the video hosts that talk about the comics are AI.
We created Indie Comics Deep Dive to give readers something a printed comic can't: creator interviews, production stories, hidden Easter eggs, comic history, and behind-the-scenes features. Mona and Sam help us deliver that information in an entertaining, conversational format while keeping the spotlight exactly where it belongs: on the comics and the creators who make them.
Why don't you host the show instead of AI hosts?
Short answer: Mona and Sam are simply better hosts.
The feedback of a Len Mihalovich-hosted Deep Dive show was not favorable. Len's daughter once compared his first attempt at hosting to a hostage video. The AI hosts convey the same message but have a conversational dynamic that flows smoother than Len nervously droning on and on about a particular comic book.
Since the start of the show Mona and Sam have grown in popularity and as characters. We have been able to leverage them as educational tools for lectures at schools and libraries. Mona co-hosted a show with Len (helping him refine his podcast skills). They threw Phil Miller a "virtual birthday party" and even took on a digital intern named Jenna. Later in 2026 they will have their own comic book. It is planned as a one-shot for now, but it is possible it could grow to more.
Why do you spend so much time on your websites and YouTube channel?
We believe buying a comic should be the beginning of the experience, not the end of it. Our websites, history pages, creator spotlights, and YouTube episodes are all designed to give readers a deeper appreciation for the people and stories behind every comic.

Contact pageWorking With Lenovations Press
Do you accept submissions?
No, I wish we could, but time, money, and resources are limited to comic projects spawned by Lenovations Press. We've got our hands full right now as it is, but if that ever changes we will post submission guidelines on our website.
Can I work with Lenovations Press?
We're always honored when creators express an interest in working with us. At the moment, however, Lenovations Press is a small publisher with a limited production schedule, so we don't have the resources to support a large creative team.
Rather than accepting open submissions, we usually approach creators whose style and experience are the right fit for a particular project. We also believe in building long-term relationships, so when new opportunities arise, we typically turn first to the talented creators we've worked with before.
That doesn't mean we aren't paying attention. We enjoy discovering new artists and writers, and you never know where a future collaboration might begin.
Can I review your comics?
We always love to hear from reviewers, podcasters, bloggers, and YouTube channels. Please email us with links to your platform so we can take a look and discuss getting you review copies of our books and comics.

We also offer a free Patreon tier for readers who simply want to follow along.

Why do you have a free Patreon tier?
We wanted everyone to be part of the Lenovations Press community, even if they weren't ready to become paid supporters. Fun Stuff
Why "Comics Done for Fun"?
Because comics should be fun to create, fun to read, and fun to share, and they are for us.
Are there Easter eggs in your comics?
Lots of them!
Some connect books published decades apart. Others are references to comic history, real people, or inside jokes that even longtime readers sometimes miss.
Why do you use public domain characters?
At first, the answer was pretty simple.
Len's reaction was basically, "Hey... I can reprint these for free. Cool!"
Then he actually read many of the original stories.
Most of those Golden Age characters had wonderful original concepts. The execution... sometimes wasn't. That's when our plan changed.
Instead of simply reprinting old comics, Lenovations Press decided to continue the adventures of these forgotten heroes. Not reboot them. Not relaunch them. Not completely reinvent them.
The goal is to respect what made the original characters special while modernizing them with stronger storytelling, deeper characterization, and new adventures that make them feel relevant again. They're still the same heroes... just the versions we always wished we'd had.
Do all your series exist in the same universe?
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. Sometimes... you'll have to keep reading. Half the fun is discovering the connections for yourself.
Still Have A Question?
If the answer isn't here, send us a message. We promise a real human will read it, even if Mona and Sam are probably judging the punctuation somewhere nearby.
